Bred by Rijk Zwaan, Crystal lettuce is like an open iceberg, with frilled, crunchy and juicy leaves. With a sweet crunchy bite, Crystal lettuces have a high leaf count of robust leaves, with a light blister and a frilled margin.

A beautiful lettuce head of not one, not two, but three types of lettuce on one root ball. The combination of 3 varieties produces an attractive ‘bouquet’ with an interesting mix of colours and leaf shapes. 

The Knox™ trait is one of the most exciting innovations in lettuce breeding. Following more than a decade of conventional breeding work, Rijk Zwaan developed the Knox trait, which reduces the pinking of cut surfaces by several days.
